Keep Warm This Winter When You Shop Hall Saddlery!

Keeping warm is the theme this month. My favorite warm riding tight is "Irideon Windpro"($119.95). In addition to being warm and windproof, they are tough and last years if taken care of properly. I am also all about the layers. My first layer is either a North Face 1/4 zip ($50.00 and my favorite, I have every color) or Body Armour. My second layer is a nice vest from The North Face. If you're in a heated arena this is probably all you need to ride in. However, if you ride out in the weather I would suggest adding a windproof jacket. Turtle fur is also a necessity. Turtle fur neck warmers($12.95) with matching headbands($15.95). We also carry the headbands that go under the helmet($10). Gloves for the stables can vary from the big thick working gloves to the thinner thinsulate for riding. I recommend the Roeckl winter glove($35.00) for riding and the Nordic fleece glove by Ovation($12.95) for working around the barn.To keep your feet warm we carry toe warmers for $1.59 and Toasty Soles ($6.95). If you're interested in some winter boots, we carry Ariat Iceberg boots which are waterproof and insulated ($119.95)

I personally feel uncomfortable wearing the thick winter boots in my stirrups so I waterproof my Ariat Paddock boots with a coat of Mallard wax/Weatherproofing, I use the Toasty soles (they last about a month) and I wear Smartwool socks (winter ski socks $22.95).

I just want to congratulate the WHJA board for putting on a wonderful year end banquet. Marsha, Robin, Cookie, Kathie and Natalie put in a lot of time to make sure everyone had a good time and I DID!
